• Cherry-picks fix: load projects with unknown view styles #269 (load projects with unknown view styles) and feat: accept the table view style #270 (accept table in add_project / update_project) onto v4.0.0.
• Bumps the version to 4.0.1 and adds a changelog entry. The 4.0.0 entry gets its own heading, since it was still under "Unreleased".
