GitHub Copilot Enterprise allows administrators to configure custom AI models and OpenAI-compatible endpoints centrally through the Copilot Admin dashboard. These models are available in VS Code and other Copilot clients, but they do not appear in Copilot CLI.
As a result, developers must configure custom providers and models individually on each workstation, which creates additional administrative overhead and can lead to inconsistent configurations.
Proposed solution
Copilot CLI should automatically discover and expose enterprise-managed custom models that have been configured by administrators in the Copilot Admin dashboard, just as VS Code does today.
